I recently traveled to the Oregon Coast to meet Kelsey and Daniel for a Cannon Beach couples portrait session at three different beaches. We had a wonderful time capturing their love and celebrating their first year anniversary together. Cannon Beach has been a special place my whole like and I always love when I get to share it with new couples.
Our first stop was Hug Point, a stunning beach with cliffs overlooking the ocean. I positioned myself above on the cliffs to capture Kelsey and Daniel as they walked hand in hand on the sandy beach. The view of the Pacific ocean behind them was picturesque.
Next, we headed to a quieter beach south of Haystack Rock. This hidden gem is a lesser-known spot among tourists, which meant we had the entire beach to ourselves. The beach is adorned with unique rock formations that provided a perfect backdrop for some adventurous shots. We even got to climb on these rocks to capture some truly remarkable photos.
For the final location of the couples portrait session we made our way to Haystack Rock at Cannon Beach as the sun began to set. The sky turned into a magnificent canvas of colors, creating a romantic atmosphere. We took advantage of the beach grass on the sand dunes near Haystack Rock to capture intimate and dreamy shots of Kelsey and Daniel.
Cannon Beach has always held a special place in my heart. Having grown up visiting this beautiful location, I have discovered numerous fantastic spots for photography. From Hug Point to Haystack Rock, and a few secret beaches in-between the Oregon Coast provides endless opportunities for stunning portraits and engagement sessions.
As a Seattle wedding photographer, I feel fortunate to have the chance to return to Cannon Beach time and time again. The beauty, tranquility, and breathtaking views never cease to amaze me. I am grateful for the memories we created during Kelsey and Daniel’s Cannon Beach couples portrait session.
