Kate and Charlie’s Bainbridge Island Farm Wedding was a beautiful celebration that brought together two families, many of friends, and a few chickens from the nearby hen house.
An early afternoon ceremony at St. Cecilia Church was refreshing in the cool morning air. As a fellow Catholic, it is always fun to get to photograph these longer ceremonies. It grants me additional time to take more photos, have a little breathing room, and compose images thoughtfully.
After the ceremony Kate and Charlie jumped into the back of a friend’s old refurbished Land Rover. Upon their arrival, there were drinks and delicious Thai appetizers for guests to enjoy, and yard games to play.
The weather could not have been better. There were just a few clouds in the sky. The sunset on the farm was a gorgeous golden yellow. The barn had a worn, rustic, and charming quality. The warm breeze carried just the right hint of fresh hay from the loft above. The inside was decorated with a large flower chandelier adorned with hanging ferns. Underneath the flower chandelier, they cut their wedding cake and danced together a little. The couple had a playful and gorgeous send-off in a sea of bubbles from their guests. They drove away in the Land Rover off into the sunset.
