Danielle and DJ’s wedding at Cave B Estate Winery in Quincy, Washington was the perfect end of summer celebration. Located on the edge of the Washington Gorge. You could look in almost any direction and see panoramic views and stunning ever-changing skies.
Their Cave B wedding was the last wedding that Allie and I would photograph together before getting married ourselves. It was the perfect way for us to enjoy and anticipate our own future wedding.
As stunning the landscapes and views were, they couldn’t even match the beautiful love between Danielle and DJ. As a result the happiness and affection between them was contagious.
Their Cave B wedding ceremony overlooked the textured cliffs of the gorge and was nestled near the pond at Cave B. The ceremony officiant was Danielle’s twin brother. He provided the perfect blend of sincere sentiment and light-hearted humor. Together, with their loved ones present, they mixed a blend of wine. Symbolically united their families.
Most noteworthy is the breathtaking skies in the Washington Gorge It’s one of my favorite regions to photograph and much of that can be credited to the sky. The clouds always provide so much depth and interest. Add in the Cave B wedding venue vineyards in the distance, and it feels like an Italian countryside. When the sunset comes around and the blue clouds and warm yellow light mix, the sky is ethereal.
Later that night the full moon rose over the reception just as the family toasted Danielle and DJ. I love the photo where DJ’s brother is giving a toast and the full moon is beaming through wispy cloud cover in the sky beyond. The reception was lead by the legendary Michael Benson Band who kept guests dancing and celebrating for hours with live music. Danielle and DJ’s wedding at Cave B Estate Winery was the perfect celebration of love and happiness.
