Shiva and Henry’s Persian Swiftwater Cellars Wedding in Cle Elum Washington had featured everything I enjoy about shooting a wedding. It’s no secret that my favorite part of any wedding is the reception. Fortunately, I have experienced many great wedding receptions as a wedding photographer. Out of all of them, Persian weddings always have the best party! It is truly the ultimate celebration of love, family, and commemoration.
Their wedding ceremony was held under the smoky skies during late summer ’s smoldering forest fires. The sun and smoke combined to create a radiating orange shade over Cle Elum. A beautiful (albeit, unfortunate cost from the nearby wildfires) soft orange glow cast over everything.
As each bridesmaid and groomsmen walked down the aisle together both families cheered loudly. There was not a quiet moment to the professional. You could barely even hear the music being played. The cheers got even louder when Henry walked down the aisle and again grew when Shiva was escorted by her father. The guests were just as excited for the wedding as Henry and Shiva. No one shied away from celebrating to the max. The way a wedding deserves to be celebrated, in my opinion.
Come time for their reception, the party ascended to the next level. As soon as Shiva and Henry walked in the noise level went from 100 to 1,000. Family, holding traditional Persian lights, walked ahead of Shiva and Henry. They danced hand in hand through all the tables where their guests were seated.
Shiva and Henry’s family gave memorable toasts. They shared memories of the bride and groom. Henry’s mother learned the native language of Shiva’s Grandfather for her toast. This truly signified the coming together of these two families. Bridging two different families and accepting everyone as one larger joined family.
Their Persian Swiftwater Cellars wedding would not be complete without dancing. Which happens to be my favorite part. After the first dances with parents, the guests were waiting on the edge of the dance floor to join the party. I am of the opinion that Persians are some of the best wedding dancers. No one skips out and no one holds back. The music was a mix of Persian songs and modern favorites which kept Shiva and Henry dancing with their family and friends till late in the night.
