When I reminiscing about Holly and Eric’s Port Gamble wedding and reception. I can’t help but feel a sense of warmth enveloping me. The love that was present in the air was palpable, and the joyous energy was infectious. It was a day that truly embodied what a wedding should be, a celebration of love, family, and friends.
Eric, being the caring father that he is, had his two kids as his groomsmen. It was heartwarming to see him help them get ready in the morning, proud to have his little ones standing by his side on such a special day. As we made our way to the church, I couldn’t help but think about how wonderful it is to see families come together in love and support, and how much more special it is when the kids are involved.
The wedding ceremony took place at Port Gamble’s St. John’s Church, a quaint little church that exudes charm. Their reception was just down the street at, the Hood Canal Vista Pavilion, close enough to walk too. The couple took a leisurely stroll from the church to the reception hall, taking in the beautiful scenery and enjoying each other’s company. The beauty of Port Gamble wedding and receptions is that the whole town becomes the backdrop for the wedding day. It was a springtime wedding, and a light sprinkle of rain added to the magic of the day. It just goes to show that sometimes, a little bit of rain is all it takes to make love grow even stronger.
Together we took took their engagement photos the October before their Spring wedding, at their shared community garden in Gig Harbor. It was so lovely to see them come full circle, from a whimsical engagement session to a blissful wedding day surrounded by loved ones.
As a photographer, I am privileged to be able to capture such special moments and turn them into lasting memories. Families coming together, quiet moments before the wedding ceremony, leisurely walks from their ceremony to their reception, and kids being kids are all concepts that hold a special place in our hearts. It’s not just about the photos; it’s about the stories we tell and the memories we make. And at the end of the day, that’s what truly matters.
