Nathan and Calley’s Washington Park Arboretum engagement session was casually sophisticated in one of Seattle’s most popular parks. It was the perfect summer evening with the warm sun filtering through the tree branches. We visited the bridge, pond, and wandered through the many trails during their Washington Park Arboretum engagement session. My favorite part was when Nathan got to propose to Calley for a second time!
Even though Nathan and Calley had already been engaged before their portrait session, I still got to photograph a “second” proposal of sorts, with an equally emotional reaction. Calley accidentally lost her ring the day before while outside visiting family and friends. After searching for hours for the ring in the grass, the ring did did not turn up. Nathan keep looking after everyone had taken a break and finally found it. Instead of alerting Calley right away that he had found the ring, he saved the ring to give it back during their engagement session the next day.
I helped Nathan pick the perfect location for him to give Calley her ring back. For all Washington Park Arboretum engagement sessions, the Pond is a must stop location and the perfect location to give back the lost engagement ring. I posed them for a photo on the dock by the pond and Nathan stepped back to “tie his shoes”. Then pulling out the lost ring to show Calley. Calley’s reaction to seeing Nathan found her ring was priceless. She was so excited, happy, and relieved to have her engagement ring back. The happiness from both shinned bright in the photos making for some spectacular engagement photos.
This was only the first half of their engagement session. Our first location was Washington Park Arboretum. For our second location we all went to downtown Seattle’s Pioneer Square. There were so many great photos from both locations I had to split up the post into two.
