Mara and Morgan’s Woodstock Farm Wedding was a spirited and candid celebration. From the ceremony to the toasts, the day was almost like a recap of their relationship, but all the while surrounded by the most important people in their lives. The wedding photography from their day captured the genuine love that Mara and Morgan’s hold each other, while reflecting each of their singular personalities.
Traditionally, the groom carries the bride over the threshold of the door at the end of the wedding night. But who can wait for the end of the night when there is dinner and dancing to be had first? Right after the ceremony Morgan swept up Mara off her feet, carrying her over the hills at Woodstock Farms so it was easier to get around. This is just one cute and helpful gesture of many between the two newlyweds.
Their wedding was extra special for me because I ended up winning my second Fearless Photography award for a photograph I took during the speeches. While all of the speeches were meaningful and heartfelt, Mara’s mother gave a particularly passionate and entertaining toast. She juggled her written speech, a glass of wine, and a microphone. Add a little gesticulating and the wine spilled out of the glass and cascaded to the ground. I’m so glad I got a picture of this, turning the moment into a new special memory for the family.
As the sun began to set, we ventured up the trail overlooking the Chuckanut Bay. The sun turned a magical golden orange and as Mara and Morgan enjoyed a few moments alone I captured some portraits. This time together was not only valuable to capture some great wedding portraits, but it also allowed them to enjoy a quiet moment on their wedding day. Especially before things got crazy on the dance floor.
A Woodstock Farms Wedding would not be complete without some barn dancing. As soon as we got back to the barn for dancing, the night never slowed down. Their energetic and dancing guests must have added about 10 years of wear and tear on the old barn floor. Props from the photo booth made their way to the dance floor including a crown for Mara and a pair of bunny ears that were passed around to countless guests. Things really heated up when Morgan graced the dance floor with his shorts, suspenders, and zero shirt.
Looking back, their day was sincere and heartfelt in the first half, and lively and dynamic in the second. It was an impeccable blend of emotions for Mara and Morgan’s Woodstock Farms Wedding – just right for the couple who seems to balance each other perfectly. I think you would agree after looking through their wedding photographs.
